Sunset, does the name really translate to "vagina"? I'm not sure if Nintendo is usually that crass in Japan, but this name is a bit taboo here. If you are sure that is the name, then of course it will be documented. If the translation really is "vagina", does it refer to the area in general, or a more specific part? I can imagine the connection with a uterus and ovaries, but that's not really the vagina exactly... — {EspyoT} 16:43, March 10, 2021 (EST) | Sunset, does the name really translate to "vagina"? : | :Ur... sadly(?), yes. It's common for all jellyfloat family members. First, "マンマン" has similar pronunciation with マンコ.
Moreover, its official Japanese name is ヨミノホトクラゲ. "ヨミ" means kinds of "Hades", "Kurage" means "jellyfish", safe for work. However, "ホト" is Japanese old expression of "Vagina", so It is natural to think that. Link is here:(Only Japanese!)

Anyway, "マンマン" itself is not direct expression of vagina, so if you feel bad with direct expression of vagina, I think using alternate vagina word is better. --PortableSunset (talk) 19:09, March 10, 2021 (EST)
