Okay, are we having this and "New Play Control! Pikmin" and turning "New Play Control!" into a disambig page, or making this and "New Play Control! Pikmin" redirects to "New Play Control!" and having everything on there? I think having articles for the two games would make more sense, since 2's now out. GP

Errr... one? I'm ~LonelyRedpikminsprite.jpgTurret~ And I approve this message.

Articles for each game! Snakeboss14

Even if they're just remakes, they should get their own pages to highlight individual differences and such. Portal-Kombat

Errr... yeah I maent option one... I'm ~LonelyRedpikminsprite.jpgTurret~ And I approve this message.
Done. GP

2s out??? Rpwyb 13:02, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Everywhere but the USA. GP

what is this world coming to Rpwyb

With Super Mario Galaxy 2 announced, I'll need a great and long videogame to distract myself from that, but Pikmin 2 still doesn't come out in Mexico. Artwork of an Orange Bulborb.Snakeboss14Artwork of a Hairy Bulborb.

I guess that makes it everywhere but America, then? I don't know; it's definitely out in Japan, Europe and Australia. GP
When did Pikmin 2 come out in America? I found out about it in Australia months ago! I presumed it was translated to English in America, but perhaps it is translated in Europe? - TheYellowPikmin
Since Greenpickle's last comment, New Play Control!: Pikmin 2 has come out in the U.S, and I'm sure in all other American countries as well. In response to your second comment: there is are region-specific version of all Pikmin games for both European and American countries. I own the version sold in the U.S, and the spelling and such are all local. I don't know other regions though.

You sure? If it's come out in Mexico I'm gonna have to choose between it an Other M! Twinmold.pngSnakeboss14Twinmold.png
I thought I heard it had come out in Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. Maybe I'm wrong, though. Vol (Talk)
Hmm... I just checked and it hasn't come out in North America. I was sure I've seen it at electronics stores. Perhaps they have European branches and are shipping from there? Vol (Talk)

Is this out in North america yet? One of my friends on Spore.com claims to have seen it in an electronic store...anyone else seen it? ShadowRaptor101 02:58, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

Image infobox[edit]

Just asking... does it make sense to have the North American boxart of Pikmin 2 in the infobox? The Australian boxart is there... ~PikFan23

Well, the American boxart is the Nintendo Selects version, so it's too flashy to show off the art properly. The European version uses different art from the one most people recognize, so I'd say the Australian version is the go-to version. — {EspyoT} 07:25, 21 May 2012 (EDT)
Also, the NA version isn't truly a "New Play Control!" title, so it shouldn't be there. --SnorlaxMonster 07:30, 21 May 2012 (EDT)

Sequel[edit]

I'd honestly mark the sequel as P3, not P3D. The reason is because P1 and P2 are obvious sequels, and meant to be played one after the other by fans. When the NPC! games launched, they were a way to bring some GameCube titles people might not have played onto the Wii. As such, the market audience for the NPC! titles is people who have never played the GameCube games and will enter the franchise with these NPC! titles. As far as those players are concerned, NPC!P1 and NPC!P2 are the two main Pikmin titles, meant to be played one after the other, and just happen to be rereleases. After that, there is a long hiatus until Pikmin 3, and on a completely different console. By that point there is no longer the P1-P2, or NPC!P1-NPC!P2 connection. On top of that, NPC!P1 and NPC!P2 make more sense to be considered the same line not just because of what I said, but literally because they're part of the New Play Control! lineup, by name. P3D is a much different case like I said, but it's also not in the same "family" of remasters. — {EspyoT} 14:10, May 17, 2021 (EDT)
