You know what?I feel bad for the plasm wrath...He was just lonely,so when it found olimar unconscious,he wanted to wake him up and make a friend.Then koppains come along,and our like "What is that monster doing to olimar?!He's in 'terrible' danger!".So it sucks it up olimar to save him...so after that,he attempts to get him back.In a final attempt to win him back,he use's his final ticket:Elemental powers.Eventually he looks up to the sky after being defeated and does what could be considered a wave goodbye to his 'friend' olimar,who is flying away with the koppains.Pikmin has a very dark behind the scenes...

Ok, I'm going to say it, some of the bosses in the pikmin games have phases, not to be arguemental, but, the emperor bulblax (in pikmin 1), like I said before, does have two phases, after it gets down to less than half health it will go into its more agressive state. The waterwraith does technically have two phases, the state of having and not having its rollers. These examples are two cases of bosses having multiple phases, that being said, the plasm wraith is the only boss with clearly-defined phases that are shown by cutscenes. If someone can get to hack the Wii U for something like Boundary Break, we could find out what the other enemy is on the Plasm Wraith boss battle in Defeat Bosses mode, although i still think it's The Mysterious Lifeform.
:Doing stuff like in in Boundary Break isn't quite possible, at least not for most people. But we have other tools. From what I gathered, it looks like that during the boss battle's intro cutscene, there is a Mysterious Life Form object, and midway through the cutscene, that object is moved way out of bounds and is replaced with the Plasm Wraith object. So what's out there is probably nothing more than the Mysterious Life Form, but inactive.
