Dandori (段取り) is, as Pikmin 4 puts it, the ability to "organize tasks strategically and working effectively to execute plans". It is a key concept of the ps as a whole, but is more stressed in Pikmin 4, with characters referring specifically to it, and there being two game modes named after it, Dandori Challenges and Dandori Battles.
Dandori (段取り) is a Japanese word that can be roughly translated as "the procedure (for carrying out a plan)" or "the preparation (before carrying out a plan)". It is introduced as an in-universe word and concept in p4, being explained as "the art of organizing your tasks strategically and working with maximum efficiency to execute your plans quickly". While not officially mentioned before this, it is a key concept applicable to the ps as a whole.

Dandori (段取り?) is a Japanese word that can be roughly translated as "the procedure (for carrying out a plan)" or "the preparation (before carrying out a plan)". It is introduced as an in-universe word and concept in Pikmin 4, being explained as "the art of organizing your tasks strategically and working with maximum efficiency to execute your plans quickly". While not officially mentioned before this, it is a key concept applicable to the Pikmin series as a whole.

Pikmin 4

Dandori is an especially important concept to the leaflings, a group of castaways who have been turned into Pikmin-like creatures, who hold Dandori Challenges and Dandori Battles in its image. It is also held in high regard by the Rescue Corps.

Trivia

 • Outside of the games, Pikmin series creator Shigeru Miyamoto mentions the word after Pikmin 4's reveal trailer, saying it is how the developers refer to the strategic planning of the series.[1]
