Pikmin Extinction

What is it?

Pikmin extinction occurs when every single Pikmin, above ground, planted and in the Onion are killed. In Pikmin 2, the player is given time to save their Pikmin from every threat with the exception of Bulborb Larvae, crushing, explosions, and electricity.

Many fans have regarded Extinction as being "childish", "careless" and even "cruel" due to the fact that after extinction, the player will have to regrow all of their armies from scratch, and that with the exception of Bulborb Larvae or electricity, all other status problems can be fixed by simply blowing your whistle.
