Pikmin Extinction

What is it?

Pikmin extinction occurs when evey single Pikmin, above ground, planted and in the Onion are killed. In Pikmin 2, the player is able to save their Pikmin from every threat with the exception of Bulborb Larvae and electricity.

Many fans have regarded Extinction as being "childish", "careless" and even "cruel" due to the fact that after extinction, the player will have to regrow all of their armies from scratch, and that with the exception of Bulborb Larvae or electricity, all other status problems can be fixed by simply blowing your whistle.

Examples of Extinction

1. Pikmin method Enter the Final Trial, and quickly drown all of your Red and Yellow Pikmin in the small lake nearby, and burn all of your Blue to death in the tunel of fire to the left of the landing spot. Olimar will then look around,fall to his knees and cry out into the sky. His subseqeunt journal entry detail him of his failure as a leader, and that he will try better the next day.

2. Pikmin 2 method Very much the same with the additions and creativity of White and Purple Pikmin and Bulbmin.
