The '''Waddlequaff''' ({{j|スイトリー|Suitorī|Sucking-Up Bird}}) is a bird-like enemy first found in the [[Blossoming Arcadia]] in {{p4}}. It has a cream feathered body with two wings of the same color, and a long pink beak which is always open. Waddlequaffs use their beak to suck in objects and prey and must be defeated to retrieve that which has been swallowed.

When the Waddlequaff spots a Pikmin, it will begin to inhale in an attempt to swallow and eat it. It can also swallow [[pellet]]s, [[treasure]]s, and [[Scrummy Bone]]s, but only actively targets pellets and treasures, and ignores Scrummy Bones unless thrown directly into its attack range while inhaling. When it shakes off attacking Pikmin, swallowed pellets or treasures will be spat out, one at a time. Upon death, any remaining pellets or treasures it has eaten will be spat out all at once.

== Appearance ==

The Waddlequaff is a medium-sized bird enemy with a hunched posture, having a somewhat small head in comparison with its larger ovaloid body, having no neck properly connecting the head to the body.

In addition, the Waddlequaff has various avian features; like cream colored feathers with a white underbelly, black orbital rings around its eyes, a pair of small vestigial wings, a pair of two-toed clawed red feet and a long pink almost duck-like bill with a bulbous cere with nostrils, said beak is constantly open on the end of it, which serves the purpose of vacuuming up pikmin, treasures, objects and even the player alike.

Finally, although not entirely similar, the Waddlequaff has some similarities with the Mockiwi enemy, as both are ground dwelling stocky bird enemies that are somewhat duck looking with red beaks and didactyl feet.

== Strategy ==
It is recommended to have a hefty squad of Pikmin before taking this enemy down. You can either throw Pikmin onto its back or Rush it with Oatchi. Alternatively, you can feed it a bomb rock to instantly kill it.
