In Pikmin 4, gear that gives you abilities, immunities, or stats can be bought from [[Russ]] for [[raw material]]. Most of them are unlocked after collecting a specific amount of [[Sparklium]].

Additionally, other gear can be seen in the demo's gameplay guide and in trailers:
*An upgraded Treasure Gauge that displays the number of treasures in an area or cave.
*A device that gathers Pikmin outside your squad back to the base.
*Headlamp+, an upgraded headlamp that costs 100 raw material.
*Rush Boots, which make you run faster and costs 120 raw material.
*Lineup Trumpet, which commands Pikmin to move out in specific directions, similar to how [[Swarm|swarming]] functions in ''Pikmin'' and ''Pikmin 2''.
