The Dandelion, although an all-too-common weedy plant in the real world, is somewhat rare in the Pikmin games, appearing in only two overworld locations, one cave, and seven challenge mode levels. Dandelions are used merely for scenery and do not affect gameplay. Seeding Dandelions can also be found in Pikmin 2, but are just as non-functional and are even more rare. The Dandelion is among the few organisms in the Pikmin series named after its real world counterpart.

In Pikmin 3, Dandelions evolve from each passsing day going from bud, flower and finally a Seeding Dandelion.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This perennial grows best in locations with full sun exposure. Its flowers boast countless tiny yellow petals packed together in a head. The species seems to have as many weedlike variants as petals, so more detailed research on these plants would best be left to a botanical research specialist.

Louie's notes

Young leaves are only suitable in garden salads. Use the flower to add color to your dishes.
