  • I feel like that people aren't going to remember how many days they completed Pikmin in their first run... Maybe a better poll would be asking about the fewest days that they completed Pikmin in? IMO, a low-day run makes more of an impact than their first run. ~PikFan23 20:07, 18 July 2015 (EDT)
    • I don't know... Casual players (I assume the vast majority) won't really care for low-day runs. I've played through Pikmin several times, but I still remember my first time: 23 days. I'd say the first time really sticks with you, but I'm all ears for different opinions. — {EspyoT} 08:12, 19 July 2015 (EDT)
      • Hmm... Yeah, most probably won't be going for a low-day run. Looking at the stats for Pikmin 3, not a whole lot of people got all fruit, and even then, those who did took like 40-50 days. (Also, regarding the marsh thing, I don't know how it disappeared...? I don't even remember doing anything to it...) ~PikFan23 04:26, 20 July 2015 (EDT)
  • I first played Pikmin after the sequel, so my first record was fairly impressive. My first run of Pikmin 2, on the other hand... look, the instruction manual didn't make it clear the log-things were bridges, OK? Phineas81707 (talk) 04:25, 29 November 2016 (EST)

What platform would you like Pikmin 4 to be on?

  • Wii U
  • "NX"
  • Nintendo 3DS
  • New Nintendo 3DS
Rejected for no longer being relevant.

Support

  1. (Nominator:) Pikmin 4 has been confirmed but not yet announced. It would be interesting to see what people want it to be on! GoldenTriforce (talk) 16:29, 31 January 2016 (EST)
  2. Agreed. Let's see if there's enough time for it to be relevant, though. — {EspyoT} 04:00, 1 February 2016 (EST)
  3. 3ds and New 3ds should be merged Pikifan4 (talk) 08:06, 1 February 2016 (EST)

Oppose

  1. I think it's time to delete this one, we all know it's gonna come on the Switch now. Nvortex (talk) 12:08, 28 January 2017 (EST)
  2. This poll is becoming more and more risky, as a suprise direct or the E3 might finally put the nail in the coffin of this question. Yoshi2 (talk) 13:07, 28 January 2017 (EST)
  3. Per reasons above. ~PikFan23 17:03, 29 January 2017 (EST)

Comments

  • Well, you've got basically until E3, at the latest, if my memory that "the game is basically ready" or something along those lines is true. We might see a Nintendo Direct and see it earlier, or they might pull a Detective Pikachu and announce it out of the blue. Depending on how long polls last, I don't see this one surviving long. Phineas81707 (talk) 04:29, 1 February 2016 (EST)
  • In September they confirmed it was almost ready and what else are they doing? Making Pokemon Layton and reporting a game (AGAIN). Pikmin 4 should be done by now. Pikifan4 (talk) 15:12, 1 February 2016 (EST)
  • Im pretty confident that Pikmin 4 will be announced before this poll goes up, but if it doesn't, I think the chance to have it as a poll would still be good. Also 3DS and New 3DS should stay seperate as they would be two very different games in design/implementation due to the New 3DS's faster processing speed.GoldenTriforce (talk) 18:02, 5 February 2016 (EST)
  • The 3ds is a system. The new 3ds is a system with like two more buttons and the world smallest analog stick. Pikifan4 (talk) 12:19, 8 February 2016 (EST)
  • Even if Nintendo reveals the console during the poll's lifespan, I don't think that invalidates the poll. For starters, I think this is something fans really want to be vocal about. If in the end, one week after the poll is up, Nintendo reveals that the next game's platform will actually be mobile devices (knock on wood), the question still stands: "what platform would you LIKE it to be on?" — {EspyoT} 07:27, 30 January 2017 (EST)
  • This poll could be reworded in a way like "If you could release Pikmin 4 on any platform, what platform would it be on?", making this independent from any official reveals or technical difficulties, so you could have "Switch", "3DS", "Wii U" and "Smartphone" (Nintendo mobile games are the rage right now) as options. Yoshi2 (talk) 19:01, 31 January 2017 (EST)

What Cut enemy would you like to see again?

  • Beady, Raging, and Man at Legs
  • Emperor, Empress, and Fiery Bulbax
  • Cloaking Burrow-Nit
  • Dweevils
  • Snowy and Hairy Bulborbs
  • Bulbmin
  • Mamuta and the Smoky Progg

Support

  1. (Nominator:) I think a lot of the cut enemy's from Pikmin 3 should return in Pikmin 4 or whatever Pikmin game is next. Pikifan4 (talk) 14:34, 27 January 2016 (EST)

Oppose

  1. There are more enemies than that. Plus, I'm having a hard time imagining people voting for specific ones; they would probably vote for all of them. I don't think it'd be very interesting... — {EspyoT} 10:00, 27 February 2017 (EST)

Which scrapped feature from Pikmin 3 would you most like to see in Pikmin 4?

  • False Candipop Bud
  • Bubble Blowhog
  • Kakureimo (The slug-like enemy)
  • Poison Geyser

Support

  1. (Nominator:) Personally I think it'd be interesting to see what people like the most out of the unused features CraftedPbody (talk) 11:18, 28 January 2017 (EST)
  2. TheSneakySpy (talk) 12:06, 28 January 2017 (EST)
  3. --Nvortex (talk) 13:45, 28 April 2017 (EDT)

Oppose

  1. Not many fans will know about the unused features. Of course, this can help bring attention to them, but the fans's feelings will still be limited regardless. Then, there's the fact that we still don't know much about the unused content and mechanics. There's still a lot left to discover right now, and even the contents in this list aren't entirely known. The "false" Candypop Bud might just be how the Candypop Bud works internally, if it is not set up properly, as opposed to being a new object that was meant to kill your Pikmin. The Bubble Blowhog could just be a new version of the plain old Watery Blowhog. The poison geyser is already an old thing, so I can't see how that one would be exciting whatsoever. I'm just not feeling this poll at all. Maybe one day in the distant future, when unused P3 content is much better understood, and more popular. — {EspyoT} 07:38, 30 January 2017 (EST)
  2. Seconding Espyo on this one; it's just too obscure. That being said, there could potentially be new content in Pikmin 3 Deluxe, but for now, I don't think this would be too interesting. 1337Walrus (talk) 06:44, December 1, 2020 (EST)
  3. Soprano(talk) 03:01, August 8, 2021 (EDT)

Comments

  • While an unused features poll would be fun for nerds like me who explore unused content and mechanics, I doubt the "average" Pikmin fan/player will even know about any of these things. I have to agree with Espyo that I think it would just be too obscure to get many responses from the community. Midnight blue (talk) 18:17, August 28, 2021 (EDT)

How do you think Pikmin DLC has been handled?

  • ...
Rejected for no longer being relevant; no comments

Support

  1. (Nominator:) A friend of mine suggested this. This could be used to gauge if people think Pikmin 3's DLC is greedy, quite generous with its pricing, a bit weird with its free stage offers, etc. But we'll have to think about the options carefully. — {EspyoT} 18:29, 10 April 2017 (EDT)
  2. Interested what people think. Untitled-1 (talk) 16:19, 28 April 2017 (EDT)
  3. Sounds interesting. --Nvortex (talk) 15:00, 22 July 2017 (EDT)

Oppose

  1. Now that the DLC has been added to Pikmin 3 Deluxe, this question is a bit outdated, and isn't worth asking anymore. — Soprano(talk) 17:38, December 21, 2020 (EST)
  2. Probably a moot question now that Deluxe comes with all the DLC included. And I think we already had a poll about how people felt about the new Side Stories content in Deluxe, so I think this one can just be let go. Midnight blue (talk) 18:30, August 28, 2021 (EDT)

What has been your favorite April Fool's Day joke so far?

  • (...)

Support

  1. (Nominator:) We've had a few jokes so far, and they're all very varied. We could check and see which one people liked the most. To avoid bias with any recent joke, we should only publish this poll a few months after the latest AFD joke, whenever we decide to post it. — {EspyoT} 11:07, April 7, 2019 (EDT)

Oppose

  1. This poll idea is quite limited in its scope to people who actively use Pikipedia and have done so for years. Many people would just look at the website to check area details or something like that, and a poll about annual events wouldn't be that useful for those people. — Soprano(talk) 19:43, November 10, 2020 (EST)
  2. Bossclips(talk) 13:14, November 30, 2020 (EST)
  3. I feel like this is a question that's too obscure; only people who have been using the wiki for years (and actually like/care about the jokes) would give meaningful responses. Unless you want to include an option along the lines of "I don't really like April Fool's jokes" Midnight blue (talk) 18:42, August 28, 2021 (EDT)

Comments

  • I like this idea. This is the first time (as I know of) that the poll has been based off the wiki, and not the games, which does add more variety. It may even help us make better April Fool's jokes by reflecting back on old ones. My only opposition is I think only editors and frequent readers of the wiki (which is pretty hard to measure) will probably vote or understand what it even is. However, it might encourage readers to actually read April Fool's articles, and then they might vote. Still, I'm not sure if readers will care enough to read all the articles at once just to vote. Regardless, I would like this happen and it would be fun to see! &mdash CrazyCow 21:03, 7 April 2019 (EDT)
    • Well, only the avid readers will even pay attention to the poll in the first place, I'd say. For the others, I hope it sparks their curiosity enough to go check them out. — {EspyoT} 15:57, April 8, 2019 (EDT)

What do you think happened to Pikmin 4?

  • It's still in development.
  • It's cancelled.
  • It was Hey! Pikmin.
  • It never existed in the first place.

Support

  1. (Nominator:) In my opinion, an interesting poll, however, the "It never existed in the first place" option may not be a good option for the poll, as it is very unlikely. --Ben (talk) 12:19, January 11, 2020 (EST)

Oppose

  1. A fine question, but I think its nothing more than mindless speculation. Nothing too interesting could come from asking this. — Bossclips(talk) 13:14, November 30, 2020 (EST)
  2. With a re-release and a spin-off announced since this question was proposed, I think this question is far too complicated to be put into a poll. We simply have no idea what state Pikmin 4 could be in at the moment. — Soprano(talk) 04:28, June 21, 2021 (EDT)
  3. While I'm genuinely interested to see the collective speculation on this topic, I feel like it might just spark unnecessary heated debate amongst fans. The state of the next game in the series/the series as a whole seems to be up in the air. Midnight blue (talk)

Comments

  • Hm, it might be a bit controversial... — {EspyoT} 10:04, January 12, 2020 (EST)
    • What exactly is controversial about it? --Ben (talk) 11:19, February 2, 2020 (EST)
      • We know from some places that Miyamoto has said the game is coming. But then nothing ever happened. A lot of fans are upset about this, and we'd just be reminding them. Plus, giving them a way in which to passive-aggressively point out Miyamoto lied, and how he lied, isn't exactly the healthiest thing we could do in this community. We should patiently and impartially wait for updates on Pikmin 4 to come, and not try to stoke any flames. — {EspyoT} 15:53, February 4, 2020 (EST)
        • So should this poll be rejected? --Ben (talk) 17:05, February 16, 2020 (EST)
          • We could wait for others's feedback. — {EspyoT} 04:15, February 17, 2020 (EST)
