Name

So, does anyone consider all three species as Spotty Bulborbs like I do? As in, Red Bulborbs are a subspecies of Spotty Bulborb? Vol (Talk)

Not really. Red Bulborbs are the the Spotty Bulborbs, but that name is outdated. Ridly Metroid.gif Screech! 06:54, 15 October 2010 (EDT)

Like, the scientific name of a Spotty Bulborb is Oculus kageyamii, and the scientific name for Red Bulborb is Oculus kageyamii russus. And the scientific name for Orange Bulborb is Oculus kageyamii orangium. Vol (Talk)

It's true the game never gives a common name for the grouping of all three Bulborb subspecies, but just "Bulborb" is generally accepted. What it does say that the Spotty Bulborb was reclassified specifically as the Red Bulborb, so there's little reason to believe that the species Oculus kageyamii would have the common name "Spotty Bulborb." A note about the scientific name: the name Oculus kageyamii was given before more subspecies were discovered, so at the time the name for the subspecies was not necessary. Red bulborbs are a member of the species Oculus kageyamii, but the name Oculus kageyamii russus is more specific in identifying the subspecies. —Jimbo Jambo 19:13, 15 October 2010 (EDT)

Pikmin Adventure

So, back on Pikmin Wiki, if you clicked on one of the unique Bulborbs from Pikmin Adventure, it would redirect you to "Bulborb#Pikmin_Adventure." Back on Pikmin Wiki, this was fine, as there WAS a section of the Bulborb page titled "Pikmin Adventure." On here, there's not. That means this redirect just takes you to the Bulborb page, and with that, it gives you no information about the unique Bulborbs encountered in Pikmin Adventure. There's no mention of the Yellow, Green, or Billious Bulborbs on this page. A similar thing can be said for the Blowhogs; the Blowhogs in Pikmin Adventure are different then in the Pikmin series, but those Blowhogs aren't mentioned on the Blowhog page at all. Basically what I'm saying is, the Pikmin Adventure-exclusive enemies need to be on the wiki somewhere. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 184.14.104.207 • (talk) • (contribs)

Believe me anonymous dude, we've been working hard to get everything shipshape on this wiki since the merge. Well, really work has been kinda staggering at the moment. We have plans to make pages for all Pikmin Adventure enemies at some point, just that none of us have had the time to do so. This is an issue that we're aware of. Our Pikmin Adventure and Mission Mode/Bingo Battle content is very limited/hasn't been merged yet. We should get around to it at some point. If you're a reader, sorry for the inconvenience. Also, make sure to add ~~~~ after your message so we can identify you easily. AeroBlaze777sig.png Talk 20:48, 1 April 2015 (EDT)
Hm, that must be a thing with the Bulborb only. We ported the pages as they were from Pikmin Wiki, and I don't remember ever seeing a "Pikmin Adventure" section on enemy articles. But anyway, we have some articles about some Pikmin Adventure enemies as standalone articles. They're probably disorganized, but hey, they are lower-priority than the rest. — {EspyoT} 07:12, 2 April 2015 (EDT)

Disambiguation Page?

Maybe we should turn this into a disambiguation page? One of those that redirects everything. --Captains, dismissed! (talk) 19:20, 30 April 2015 (EDT)

The thing is that while that's a good idea, I think it also makes sense to briefly describe how a bulborb can be one of several things (a grub-dog, a breadbug, etc.), because I'm sure newcomers to the series will be confused at how there are so many enemies called "bulborb", but they are actually so distinct, and in different families, and how stuff like the bulbears are also different. — {EspyoT} 10:32, 1 May 2015 (EDT)
What if we have a disambiguation page, and a "Bulborb (name)" page? The former would be a simple disambiguation page to all things Bulborb, while the later would explain the details I point out above. — {EspyoT} 11:20, 30 June 2015 (EDT)
