Care to do so?

In the Pikmin series, many elements are only used for scenery, and cannot be interacted with. These objects also show that PNF-404 is very likely planet Earth. These objects (usually man-made elements, creature remains) contribute to the atmosphere of the series. The following article lists the objects that are used for background information, and also includes comparisons with similar objects that the player can interact with and real-world images of said objects.

Christmas decorations

These appear in the Fortress of Festivity, in Pikmin 3.

Gifts

A gift appears as a collectible treasure in Pikmin 2: the Joy Receptacle. In Pikmin 3, there are a few gifts that appear in the Fortress of Festivity: they aren't collectible. Finally, gifts appear in Pikmin Adventure but they are here for scenery. Here are a few montages showing these gifts:

Stockings

Two stockings appear in the Fortress of Festivity. A stocking called Icon of Progress can also be found in Pikmin 2.

Mechanics and technology

Screwdrivers appear in Pikmin 3.

Springs appear in Pikmin and Pikmin 2 as collectibles. In Pikmin 3 and Pikmin Short Movies, they appear as decoration elements.

Bolts are found in Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Pikmin 3 and Pikmin Short Movies.

Wrenches, spanners and pliers appear in Pikmin 3 and Pikmin Short Movies.

Screws are found in Pikmin 3 and Pikmin Short Movies.

Hex nuts and flat washers appear in Pikmin Short Movies, more precisely in Occupational Hazards. Hex nuts also appear in Pikmin 3.

Tyres appear in Pikmin 3, whereas wheels and rims appear in Pikmin Short Movies.

In Pikmin, one of the ship parts is a light bulb. In Pikmin 2, there's a collectible light bulb called the Stellar Orb. In Pikmin 3, they are used to light caves.

Utensils

Plates appear in Pikmin 2. They appear in the Glutton's Kitchen and the Awakening Wood. Forks, knives and spoons appear in Pikmin 3, more precisely in the Fortress of Festivity. A spoon also appears as a treasure in the Japanese version of Pikmin 2.

Sieves

Sieves appear in Pikmin 3 in the Forgotten Cove, Arid Metropolis or Sandbox Kingdom.

Gutters and manholes can be found in Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3. Sewers are found in Pikmin 3 only.

Drawings are found in Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3.

Flowerpots

Flowerpots are found in Pikmin 2 (Awakening Wood) and Pikmin 3 (the Shaded Terrace, Blooming Terrace, Garden of Hope and Beastly Caverns ). They are either full of flowers or empty.

Instruments

Instruments appear in Pikmin 2, more precisely in the Glutton's Kitchen.

Clothing

Gloves appear in Pikmin 2 (as collectible treasures), in Pikmin 3, and Pikmin Short Movies.

Boots appear in Pikmin 3 and Pikmin Short Movies. Shoes also appear in Pikmin 2 (treasure) and Pikmin Short Movies.

In Pikmin 3 and Pikmin Short Movies, it's possible to find traffic gates and traffic cones.

Control valves appear in Pikmin 3 and Pikmin Short Movies. A tap appears in Pikmin 2 as a treasure and in the intro of Pikmin Short Movies.
