|notes = While these Pikmin can break underwater walls, they can't do so for electric gates: when thrown at this kind of gate, they will hit it, then stop, then hit it again and then they will then rejoin your party. Oddly enough, when the player throws them on again, they won't do the same.

|explanation = When a Pikmin is crushed, some flags are set to make it invincible. This avoids having the Pikmin get hurt by hazards or other enemies while it's performing its crushing death animation. During this state, Pikmin are also no longer in the group, and so, can't be picked up. But if the player grabs the Pikmin at the same time it gets crushed, it will activate the invincibility flags, but skip the crushing, since the Pikmin is in a state where it cannot be harmed (i.e. grabbed by a leader).

Odd-colored Pellet Posies
{{ glitch | reproducibility = High | consequences = Harmless | p3 = Yes | p3d = Yes | image = OddPelletColourMireclops.jpg
| effects = Shows Pellet Posies with odd-colored pellets in them.
| howto = Simply take a photo of a Pellet Posy with the KopPad's camera the moment it is about to change the color of its pellet. Alternatively, in Pikmin 3, at the start of a day you can pan the radar around to a different segment where some specific multi-colored Pellet Posies are, and by looking at the TV screen, you will be able to see the pellets with atypical colors. Because it requires the GamePad and TV screen, this latter method does not work in p3d. The easiest way to pull off the glitch with this method is to start a day at the Garden of Hope after the Quaggled Mireclops has been defeated, and just pan the radar to the creature's carcass.
| notes = If you press the "unpause gameplay" button on the top-right corner of the radar in Pikmin 3, any broken pellets you are seeing in the TV screen will instantly turn to normal. Some color-changing Pellet Posies are in sync with one another, so depending on the color of the pellets that use the same cycle, it is possible to know what the color of the transitioning pellet will be, and what color it will turn into if the gameplay is unpaused while on the overhead view: red to yellow results in an olive colored-pellet, gray to red and blue to red result in a purple color, and yellow to gray and pink to gray result in a pale red color.
| explanation = This is a result of how Pellet Posies will transition between colors in a very quick gradient rather than instantly. This is not visible during gameplay, but can be caught if the action is paused at the right time. Pellet Posies that swap pellets likely begin with this transition already in place, and this is possible to spot with the radar in Pikmin 3 and the TV screen, because the game does not process a single frame of area segments that have not been visited yet in the current day until the player actually goes there or unpauses gameplay in the radar.
