'''Paper Bags''' are obstacles debuting in ''[[Pikmin 2]]'' and returning in ''[[Pikmin 3]]''. In ''Pikmin 2'', Paper Bags need to be compressed to open up the areas past them. This is achieved by [[throw]]ing [[Pikmin family|Pikmin]] on top of the bag so that it is weighed down by a certain amount. [[Purple Pikmin]], of course, weigh ten, and Pikmin of other types weigh one. The first Paper Bag is found on the first day of ''[[Pikmin 2]]'', where [[Captain Olimar]] and [[Louie]] must flatten it to reunite.

In ''Pikmin 3'', they appear as triangular blue bags, with a rectangular base. Instead of being flattened, they need to be pushed off ledges, in order to create ramps. These ramps serve as shortcuts. All Paper Bags require 10 Pikmin to push them.
