The Space Float is a rocket piece found in Pikmin. It allows someone to stay adrift in space if their ship is shot out from under them. Captain Olimar says that this is unnecessary for a pilot like him, and is only for people who lack swimming skills. However, his motto is "always be prepared".
Collecting the Part
The flotation device is found in the stomach of a Breadbug. To get it you need to have it grab an item such as a pellet or shearwig carcass, then grab the item with as many pikmin necessary to drag it to the onion. This will reduce it to very little health. To finish it off, throw a pikmin directly on top of it, or drag it again.
