I think translation of "hanageimo" given on the page is inaccurate. While "hana" can mean 花 or 'flower', it can also mean 鼻 or 'nose'. "Hanage", written 鼻毛, means 'nose hair' (as in "whiskers"?). This just leaves "imo", which could be any number of words, but as we know from some of the other worm-like enemies, it's often used as shorthand for "imomushi" or 'caterpillar'.
