In the ''New Play Control!'' games it is all ready possible to throw Pikmin further, because the pointer can go as far as the screen edge. Running then trowing only results in the same range as a normal extended throw would.
In the [[New Play Control! Pikmin|''New Play Control!'' version]] of the game, this is not necessary: the pointer can be moved anywhere on the screen, and a running throw has the same range as a normal fully extended throw.

It is possible to throw Pikmin further by taking a running start while holding a Pikmin by pressing down "A", then releasing the button while still running in the wanted direction. This works with any Pikmin type, and in both games.

In the New Play Control! version of the game, this is not necessary: the pointer can be moved anywhere on the screen, and a running throw has the same range as a normal fully extended throw.
