Bosses in Pikmin series are larger and stronger than other enemies, and may require some specific task to take down. Often, bosses have attacks capable of killing many Pikmin at once. For this reason, a tight-knit group is generally more effective against bosses than a large army.

When fighting bosses, a different piece of music plays at the more active parts of the fight, such as when a Man-at-Legs is shooting or another Arachnorb is stomping more quickly. The following is a sample of that music.
