| After a narrow escape from a Pileated Snagret out in the desert, the ship crash-lands nearby an oasis, the only distinguishable landmark as far as the eye can see. You've thrown the predator off the trail, but the Research Pod has been knocked off the top of the ship! Without the Research Pod, the ship won't fly, so if you want to make it out before nightfall (don't worry, there's no time limit on the first day) you'll have to find a way to get the pod off the high ledge behind the ship. First, notice that it landed on top of a small, open pipe- that will be important later. For now, just walk forwards and wake up the red onion lodged in the ground and then pluck the seed. With your first Pikmin you should look around for the scattered pellets. After you've obtained all seven of them you'll have more than enough to lift the big ten pellet. With the power of 25 Pikmin, go behind the ship's hull and make your Pikmin attack the scatched area of the metal pipe at the base. They'll open up a weighted wall switch which you must throw your Pikmin on top of. 25 Pikmin will flip the switch, sending a powerful blast of steam out the end of the pipe, launching the Research Pod into the sky- and it will hover back down, reattatching itself to the main ship. You've recieved your first treasure, the Research Pod. The day will end and you'll take off to a new area, as there isn't anything else you can do here... for now.
