Red Bulborb or Spotty Bulborb (in Pikmin 1)

Red Bulborbs are the main enemy in Pikmin and Pikmin 2. They are nocturnal creatures, thus they sleep for most of the day.
Most have a very slow reaction time when attacked. If attacked by a large enough force, they can be overcome before they can counterattack. It is also true that throwing numerous Purple Pikmin will work exceedingly well in defeating it without fail. Their mouth is large enough to fit several pikmin in it, so attack from the behind for best results. Red bulborbs are very apathetic. If one is attacked, the other ones won't even wake up at all, not even a signal is given out. These enemies were originally called Spotty Bulborbs, but when other kinds of Bulborbs started showing up, they had to be renamed as Red Bulborbs.
Louie's Notes
Plump specimens are best spit-roasted whole, stuffed with a lime and a slab of bacon. Baste frequently to ensure a magnificently moist haunch.
