Unobtained items would be gray]]The '''Exploration Kit''' is an assortment of treasures, namely the [[Treasure Hoard#Explorer's Friend Series|Explorer's Friend Series]]. These aid the player by giving [[Olimar]] and his companion new abilities, such as [[Repugnant Appendage|running faster]] and [[Stellar Orb|lighting up]] the surroundings in caves. The treasures from the Kit are held by the bosses of each cave from the first three areas, with the exception of the [[Brute Knuckles]], which is held by a [[Mamuta]] in the [[Frontier Cavern]]. The Frontier Cavern therefore has two upgrading treasures. The [[Wistful Wild#Caves|three caves]] in the [[Wistful Wild]] do not have any of these special treasures. However, obtaining the [[King of Bugs]] does unlock [[Louie's Notes]].
