Hello, and welcome to my user page! I'm Espyo, one of the administrators of Pikipedia. If you have any question about anything wiki or Pikmin related, please, do not hesitate to ask.

About me
About me
I own a Nintendo GameCube, as well as the first Pikmin game. After getting Super Smash Bros. Melee, Pikmin 2 is probably (or not) the next game to be bought.
I currently own a Nintendo GameCube, a Wii, a Wii U, a Nintendo 3DS, and a Nintendo Switch, as well as the European version of the four main games and p3d. Special thanks to my great friend Thomas for buying me Pikmin 3! As for the New Play Control! versions, I do have access to them, but do not own them.
I constantly play the main story mode from the start, always improving my speed.

I am also known as SRB2Espyo. I'm 18 and from Portugal, so if you see some misspelling by me in an article, don't get too "mad".
In other places, I am also known as SRB2Espyo or EspyoPT; mostly when "Espyo" is already taken. I was born in 1991, and I'm from Portugal. My current project is the Pikmin fan engine Pikifen.

Stuff
Me and the wiki
I've had a long past with the wiki, amounting to me being the fan I am today. Don't assume I'm an administrator for no reason, as I've always fought tooth and nail for the best interest of this community I'm so invested in.

Let's see... on the first Pikmin game, In saw/noticed...
Back when Pikipedia was still hosted at Wikia, I had Pikmin, and decided to search for a wiki specialized in the Pikmin franchise. I found it on Wikia, created an account on October 2008, and for quite a while, I devotedly contributed to it in any way I could, eventually reaching over 400 edits, before having to leave the wiki behind, when the split happened. On Pikipedia, only a few of the most dedicate fans remained, me being one of them.

*Around 6 Pikmin started flying when I knocked down the Pellet Posies on The Forest of Hope (where you must travel to reach the Nova Blaster)
During my time on post-split Pikipedia, I eventually worked on several articles, always cleaning up and adding things wherever I could. As time passed, my English skills, my ability to work with wikis, and my Pikmin knowledge grew ever stronger. Currently, I'd say I'm one of the most dedicated Pikmin fans out there.
*Once, I heard, in the Nintendo logo screen, a Pikmin saying "Wooooo!" instead of the classic "Pikmin!" pikminish sound. (Submitted it on the GameFAQs forums)
**Right now (Dec 7th) I heard a Pikmin sighing (like when they find out there's no more place to hold the spoil).

Other info
In 2014, one of my most active years, I worked on raising the bar on article quality several times over. Sometimes noting a thing that could serve as a new guideline, sometimes realizing something to add to a template, etc. Every little detail I could find, I tried to improve upon and update the corresponding guidelines, in order to maximize the wiki's quality. On top of that, I also started getting technical and abstract, and started working on content and articles that relate to stuff outside the games' canon, as well as technical content from within the game's data, especially unused content. I also worked on other small details here and there, such as the engine, tools to help examine game content, and a bot for the chatroom, known as Testyo.

I also created The Impact Site's Challenge Mode's map.
Eventually, this caught the attention of editors at Pikmin Wiki, which, at the time, was a monumental place. I was called in to discuss the possibility of a merge between the two wikis, something I've always planned on doing. We talked, we discussed, we planned, and after a long night, we eventually reached the conclusion that the community will all stick in Pikipedia, in order for it to become the ultimate Pikmin wiki.

Possible improvements to the Wikia
At last, after many years, Pikipedia is finally growing to be the incredible Pikmin encyclopedia that I – and no doubt, so many more wonderful members of the community – so tirelessly fought for. To you all I give my most genuine thanks. Here's to the wiki's never-ending future!
If I had enough resources, I could do this myself, without much hustle, but in the mean time, these are stuff that other people could do.

Pikmin 1 enemy pictures
I can...
Comments about the main info chart's picture's in articles
These are the things I can do, regarding the Pikmin games. If you have any request, shoot it on the talk page!
*<s>Armored Cannon Beetle: the image shouldn't be a beta one, nor have the GUI showing.
*Goolix: It shouldn't be an enemy reel screenshot.
*Pearly Clamclamp: Needs a better screenshot. Close-up, no GUI.
*Smoky Progg: It shouldn't be an enemy reel screenshot.</s>

Olimar's Voyage Log entries
I can...
I think that there is a grand total of 64 (a possible reference to the Nintendo 64) entries on Olimar's Voyage Log. And apparently, the following are missing:
*...play the GameCube and the Wii games (any region) on Dolphin, which means I can:
*<s>Puffstool (After defeating it, it doesn't return...)</s>
**...take most screenshots.
*<s>Beady Long Legs (Same as Puffstool)</s>
**...rip most textures.
*<s>Burrowing Snagret (I tried several times, but I never got any info. Perhaps, if I try attacking the one which is actually holding the piece... On the Emperor Bulblax, Olimar pointed out that he hid the piece.)</s>
**...extract certain game content.
*<s>Armored Cannon Beetle</s>
**...discover version differences.
*<s>Wollywog</s>
*...play Pikmin 3 on Cemu, which means I can:
*<s>Candypop Bud (I tried previously, but I'll try again)</s>
**...access the game's files.
*<s>Goolix</s>
**...change the game's content.
*<s>Breadbug (Same as Puffstool)</s>
*...play Hey! Pikmin on Citra, which means I can:
**...access the game's files.
**...change the game's content.

A big thanks to Portal-Kombat for pointing them out!

* The foliage in this screenshot is so dense! Sometimes I feel like re-watching or to show someone just how elaborate the background vegetation can get in Pikmin 3, so it'll be nice to have this image around.
* In August 2021, the ship part location images have been deleted in favor of a dynamic map via map. The old images looked similar to what you'd see in-game. For safekeeping, here are the instructions I used to create those images.
** Ship part images, as taken from the description of the Main Engine's image:
**# The textures of the maps and the texture of the part location star have been ripped (there are two textures for the latter; the bigger one was used).
**# Each map texture was cropped as it seemed appropriate.
**# For each area, the map texture was applied onto a completely black image. This creates a pseudo alpha mask.
**# The "alpha mask" was applied on top of a completely purple image. The shade of purple used was #8080FF.
**# This final purple transparent map was placed on top of a completely black image.
**# The map was finally rescaled to twice its size, and the treasure star texture was rescaled to half its size.
**# The star was then placed on top of the map, manually, in the appropriate spot.
** Treasure images, as taken from the description of the Courage Reactor's image:
*** To achieve this image and others like it, for Pikmin 2, the same process as the one for Pikmin ship part locations took place, but on step #4, the color is a solid #D0D0FF. It is also worth noting that the radar in Pikmin 2 does not have a treasure location pinpoint feature, so P1's was used.

I've made some HD images of the maps in Pikmin (game), seen from above.

How did I do this? Simple. Yet hard. Every time I enter an area using Dolphin (an emulator), an option is set to dump all textures. Normally, the textures would be the sides of the tree trunks, the top, the ground texture, etc., all individually. But for some very odd reason, amongst the textures that are dumped, 5 or 6 are created too, that contain an overview of the area (each image has a piece). I just decided to organize them and save them in a single image.

Hello, and welcome to my user page! I'm Espyo, one of the administrators of Pikipedia. If you have any question about anything wiki or Pikmin related, please, do not hesitate to ask.

Me and the wiki

I've had a long past with the wiki, amounting to me being the fan I am today. Don't assume I'm an administrator for no reason, as I've always fought tooth and nail for the best interest of this community I'm so invested in.
