The following policy applies to area articles.

Layout

This section should explain the general look and layout of the stage. It should briefly detail the kind of atmosphere and theme of the area, followed by giving an outline of the most notable landmarks.

Information

This is a list of ship parts, treasures, fruits, caves, enemies, hazards, plants and other items (such as nectar eggs or gates) that can be found in the area. They should follow this policy.

Challenge Mode

Pikmin areas should contain a section detailing how they work in Challenge Mode. This section should contain an opening paragraph explaining the major differences between the story mode stage and the Challenge Mode version. This section should also have a "Layout" and an "Information" sub-section, same as the ones above.

Pikmin drawings

For Pikmin 3 areas, this section should contain a gallery with screenshots of the Pikmin drawings, and their locations on the gallery's description.

Gallery

A section with a standard gallery, showing some landmarks and other points of interest, as well as a link to a category with more images after the gallery, using the template {{see more}}. The gallery should also include the map shown on the infobox, because users that are not running Javascript won't be able to open the map using the infobox.
