In {{hp}}, the options menu is accessed from the [[area selection menu]], and contains 3 options. The first is called "Music", and has a slider for changing the volume of music on a scale from 0 to 3. The second is called "Sound", and has an identical slider for changing the volume of sound effects. The third is called "SpotPass", and can be toggled on and off. Turning it on will cause a pop-up to appear saying "Would you like to share your gameplay information with Nintendo?" with the options being "Yes" and "No". The top screen explains that "You may choose to share information about your gameplay with Nintendo in order to help us develop future products and services." The menu is controlled with the touchscreen, and at the bottom is a button to return to the area selection menu.
