I kinda think bomb rocks might be this things eggs. It would explain why bomb rocks are different sizes between the games. | |||
In Pikmin, the eggs are small, and the dirigibug is nowhere o be found. (Possibly migrated, or extinct except for eggs, resulting in Olimar's theory.) | |||
In 2 the eggs hatch, and the dirigibugs find out about the Pikmin using the eggs, so they begin carrying them for protection. | |||
Eggs mature into a larger size unable to be carried. In 3 all dirigbugs either died or migrated, and the remaining eggs eggs have matured to be larger then in Pikmin, but not matured enough to be large enough to be uncarriable. And finally, Yellows teach the other Pikmin how to use bomb rocks.....
