Bulborb
Red bulborbs or Spotty bulborbs in Pikmin or Oculus kageyamii russus in their bionomial nomanclature are the main enemy in Pikmin and Pikmin 2. They are nocturnal creatures, thus they sleep for most of the day. Most have a very slow reaction time when attacked. If attacked by a large enough force, they can be overcome before they can counterattack. It is also theroized that throeng a single purple pikmin directly on the center of it kills it instantly. Their mouth is large enough to fit several pikmin in it, so attack from the behind for best results. Luckily, Red bulborbs are very apathetic. If one is attacked, the other ones probably won't even wake up. These enemies were originally called Spotty Bulborbs, but when other, just-as-spotty colors started showing up, they had to be renamed as Red Bulborbs.
