The Doomsday Apparatus is the heaviest and most valuable treasure in Pikmin 2. It is a large blue, and heavily rusted training weight. It is found in the Wistful Wild, not too far from the landing site. You must go through the grueling task of getting 100 Purple Pikmin to be able to pick up this unfathomably heavy item, and even then, it takes a very long time to carry to the base because of the fact that all the purples can't circle around the treasure, meaning in a complicated way, more Pikmin could carry it! However, you can't bring out more, so you'll have to suck it up as it will take forever; luckily the treasure is only near the destroyable rocks, so the wait will probably be around two 'Pikmin' hours. The '1k' sign also inspired a theory of how much a Pikmin can carry! A good way to burn time is to defeat some enemies out by the Cavern of Chaos like the Crawmad, the Groink, and the Decorated Cannon Beetle.
