The Positron Generator is a ship part in Pikmin 1 that is found at the Impact Site. It basically is a rounded green object that has two golden antennae on the top. Olimar mentions he uses this to make "Instant Space Noodles"; considering this and the name, it is possible that this part is used to produce energy.

You can only get it once you have all the species of Pikmin due to all of the obstacles, and Blue Pikmin are what are essentially needed to get to this part. The part is inside a Pearly Clamclamp, and it is lodged in the membrane. It is no different then defeating another Clamclamp, so just destroy the membrane, and retrieve the part.

Trivia
- When Olimar retrieves the Positron Generator, he says in his notes that if you approach it you can receive an electric shock. However, neither him nor the Pikmin can be damaged by it.
