Some enemies are not members of any known biological family. These enemies are shown as being in the Unknown family in p2 and p3d, ? family in hp, and ??? family in p4. Most of these enemies seem to have no biological relationship, despite many of them sharing similar traits or names.

These creatures currently have no known family.

Ancient Sirehound
The Arachnode is an enemy that appears in Pikmin 3. It is a black and yellow striped spider that lies in rest in the form of a ball that lies in wait on a web. Winged Pikmin will get caught on its web if directed to carry something near an Arachnode's web, so it must be killed if Winged Pikmin are to carry anything by one.
The Ancient Sirehound is the final boss of Pikmin 4. It is a green and blue space dog and is implied to be controlled by Louie. It has multiple phases based around different types of hazards seen in the game.

The Armored Mawdad is a boss that appears in Pikmin 3. It is a blue centipede-like creature that covers itself in crystal armor that can be broken only with Rock Pikmin. It charges at Pikmin, and if any Pikmin is caught in its large mandibles, it will eat them. Defeating it will allow Alph to obtain the Data Glutton, and proceed to the Distant Tundra.

the final boss of Hey! Pikmin
The Bearded Amprat is an enemy that appears in Pikmin 3. It is a rodent-like mammal with a large amount of hair in front of its head. While in this state, the Amprat is harmless. However, by rubbing its beard with its forelegs, it can use static electricity to attack. By stunning Pikmin, it can then proceed to eat them.
Berserk Leech Hydroe
clear
The Berserk Leech Hydroe is the final boss of hp. It is a gigantic plant creature, it has a purple and white body with grass and some sprouts growing on its back. It has three stalks with very few and small spines and Venus flytrap-like mouths on the ends, the central one being larger and acting like the main head while the smaller ones are used as its primary method of attack. In its second phase it can come out from the ground revealing that it has 4 brown legs with clawed feet. After defeating the second phase the creature's body withers and the central head detaches from the dead body retaining a small portion of it. This new body sprouts wings and has smaller feet lighter in coloration than the ones from the main body.

Calcified Crushblat
The Calcified Crushblat is an enemy that appears in Pikmin 3. It is a head with long, chicken-like legs covered in calcification. The calcification can be shattered with either Rock Pikmin or bomb rocks, leaving the creature harmless (crushing Pikmin will instead plant them). It is a rare enemy, appearing only once in Story Mode, but is not considered by the game to be a mini-boss.

The Flighty Joustmite is a variant of the Joustmite that appears in Pikmin 3. It is identical in appearance to a regular Joustmite, but for its red colored shell and small wings with which it can use to fly in the air. Rock Pikmin are immune to being stabbed with its proboscis.
The Fireflinger Groink is an enemy that appears in Hey! Pikmin. Although it is never stated they are related, the Fireflinger Groink shares many similarities to the Gatling Groink, which is interesting since both creatures do not belong to any known family.

The Gatling Groink is an enemy in Pikmin 2. It is a large biomechanical creature with eyes staring forward, two legs, a mechanical tail and a mouthplate that fires mortar rounds. Despite not having a very dangerous attack, it possesses strong defensive capabilities and is often located in hard-to-reach places, such as on top of pillars, increasing its protection against Pikmin even more. It attacks by initiating a cannon from its mouth and fires 3 mortars at regular intervals when in range of a target. When the balls hit the ground, they scatter all Pikmin in range and kill those at the absolute center of the blast. The method to attack it is to throw Pikmin at its rear, where it lacks metal shielding. It can shake the Pikmin off when agitated, and unlike most enemies, the shaking occurs without any visible preparations, giving the player hardly any reaction time. Because Purple Pikmin stun when they land on the ground, it is not necessary to get behind it to immobilize it with purples. Once killed, it starts regenerating health, making it crucial to carry it to an Onion or the Research Pod. If it isn't carried back on time, it will revive and continue its attack.

Goolix
The Goolix is an enemy in the first Pikmin game. It resembles a blue amoeba with two nuclei (a blue one and a larger yellow one), and stretches around to engulf Pikmin who happen to be in its path, drowning them out with its aquatic properties. The only Pikmin invulnerable to it are Blue Pikmin, due to its watery nature. Its weak point is the smaller nucleus. If it is attacked, it will smack the nuclei together, knocking off all Pikmin on it, though it may cause more damage. When it dies, it gets absorbed into the ground, leaving no trace it was ever there, besides dropping 4 random-colored 5-pellets. It is only found in The Impact Site on odd-numbered days (even-numbered days will have the Mamuta instead).

The Joustmite is an enemy in Pikmin 3. It appears to be functionally identical to the Cloaking Burrow-Nit of Pikmin 2, but has several distinct differences. Firstly, its weak point is behind it, while the weak point of the Burrow-Nit was the face. Secondly, its stabbing attack is now classes as blunt force, making it useless against Rock Pikmin.

Mamuta
The Mamuta is an enemy found in the Pikmin games. It appears rocky, with two small eyes and two arms of dissimilar size. In the first game, it will just stand and watch any Pikmin walk by. Any attack on it, however, causes it to become enraged and pound the Pikmin into the ground. This, strangely enough, doesn't kill them, but will replant them and turn them into flower Pikmin. In Pikmin 2, they have been made more aggressive, attacking when the Pikmin come close. They still don't kill the Pikmin, however. If killing them is necessary, they are easy to attack, as they have smaller health. In the first game, they are found at The Impact Site on even-numbered days (on odd-numbered days, the Goolix is encountered instead.)

Glow Pikmin
The Medusal Slurker is an enemy found in Pikmin 3. They are similar to the Jellyfloats of Pikmin 2, but are completely harmless. They absorb objects into their body with a long, uvula-like appendange, which includes both Pikmin and other things, including Juicy Gaggles, bomb rocks and even leaders. Pikmin inside it when sunset arrives will be considered as killed by the nocturnal creatures. Also unlike Jellyfloats, their bodies may be salvaged.
Glow Pikmin are a type of Pikmin that can only be used at night during night expeditions, and in caves. Glow Pikmin have bright green, bioluminescent bodies. They have no legs; their bodies instead end in a tapered and ghost-like tail. Because of this, they have the ability to float. They have blue eyes, though one of them appears to be larger than the other and has a light blue pupil. Their flowers are also slightly differently shaped, with five pointed petals (resembling a star) instead of the normal rounded ones. They also appear to be slightly smaller than other Pikmin types.

Mitites are enemies found in Pikmin 2. They are helpless, but not harmless. They resemble small, pink creatures with white shells and five legs to move around. When one steps on wherever they're buried, 10 of them will then come out and scuttle around, sending both themselves and the Pikmin into a panic. They are also found in eggs on the ground and in Honeywisp eggs, underground in sublevel 10 of Hole of Heroes, which are summoned by an Emperor Bulblax when it roars, as well as being found in the bodies of some Raging Long Legs. Mitites can be found just about anywhere, it just depends on the chance that an egg will contain some. They will eventually burrow back unless killed. They can easily be killed by throwing a Purple Pikmin in the middle of the group.

Nectarous Dandelfly
Lumiknolls are large dirt mound nests found in night expeditions in Pikmin 4. They are the home to Glow Pikmin, and function similarly to the Onion, although their behavior is quite different. Lumiknolls produce Glow Pikmin when fed with glow pellets. Juvenile Lumiknolls, known as Tricknolls, are also found within night expeditions and serve as an extension of the Lumiknoll.

The Nectarous Dandlefly is a harmless enemy in Pikmin 3. They are similar to the Honeywisp of Pikmin 2, in that they are floating creatures that carry around nectar. Depending on where the enemy is hit, it can drop between one and five nectar droplets.

The Peckish Aristocrab is an enemy found in Pikmin 3. It is an onion-like crab enemy with a crystal claw. Said claw can be destroyed by Rock Pikmin, bomb rocks or Yellow Wollywogs. It can only eat Pikmin if its claw is available to it, but it can also spray bubbles to trap leaders and Pikmin. Charging at the Aristocrab causes it to push its body from the ground, out of Pikmin reach. It's advanced AI gives it difficulty on par with a mini-boss, but the game does not consider it such.
Moss is a space dog in p4. In the game's prologue she is found by Captain Olimar when he crash-lands on PNF-404 and quickly befriends him, helping him throughout his search for his ship's missing ship parts. After the prologue, Moss is seen accompanied by a leafling-transformed Olimar, and accompanies him during Dandori Battles.

Ujadani are small, rare creatures from Pikmin 2. They only appear in Wistful Wild every 30 days from day 31 onwards, and can be found around the Hole of Heroes and Dream Den. They will ignore leaders but will immediately swarm Pikmin and occasionally release poison. Pikmin will attack them of their own accord, but when attacked the Ujadani will not only release poison but also nectar or sprays. They are not documented in the Piklopedia, so the information about them belonging to an unknown family is only seen on their e-Reader e-card.

The Pyroclasmic Slooch is an enemy in Pikmin 3. It is a black slug with orange bands that also happens to be on fire. The Quaggled Mireclops is a boss in Pikmin 3. It is a colossal rock-creature with hooves and a fruit-like appendage on its head. It was presumably responsible for the Hocotate ship being trashed, stranding Olimar and Louie on PNF-404. It attacks by stomping on the ground which, beyond simply harming Pikmin, creates pools of water. Once downed by having one of its hooves attacked enough, its head is available to be attacked. However, it can still eat Pikmin using a large, sticky tongue situated in a mouth under the fruit-like appendange. It drops the Food Thief upon defeat.
The Waterwraith is a watery, humanoid boss in Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 4. It appears to have a human shape, a head, body, arms, and legs, without distinct characteristics though, since it is transparent. It falls from the sky and moves around on stony rollers, chasing leaders and their Pikmin. It is invincible to any Pikmin assault, even if petrified, except when attacked by Purple Pikmin. When a Purple Pikmin lands on or near the Waterwraith, it turns dark and becomes vulnerable to all Pikmin attacks. When the player depletes its health, the rollers crumble and the Waterwraith will run around the cave until defeated.

The Sandbelching Meerslug is a boss in Pikmin 3. It is a huge slug-like creature that burrows underground in the sand. Its two main attacks are to spit large clumps of sand that can bury Pikmin, and to suck sand into its large mouth in a manner similar to an antlion. It is able to eat planted Pikmin. The Smoky Progg is a hidden boss in Pikmin, and is possibly one of the toughest. The only way to encounter it is to go into The Distant Spring area before day 15. It resides in the massive lake area, on a later useless mound of small islands, in an egg form. If one touches the egg by any means, even with Olimar, it will break out of the egg and show its true form; a dark green and black creature, emitting fumes toxic to Pikmin, sporting glowing white eyes. It will follow the player back to the landing site, so it's necessary to kill it. It can uproot Pikmin sprouts. The only way to hurt it is to throw Pikmin onto its large head. Any Pikmin left walking in its trail will succumb to the unknown substance it emits. It has an incredibly high defense, and takes a while to kill. However, when killed it drops a pearl or nut that will be sufficient food to produce 100 Pikmin from any Onion that it gets to.

* Previously, this article also included species with unspecified families. Specifically, the five species from p1 (a game with no official creature log) who did not return for p2. As of the release of p4, all five of these species have received an official family in some capacity.

** While the adult Armored Cannon Beetle has yet to technically return, its younger variant, the Armored Cannon Larva, is classified in the Lithopod family.
The Sputtlefish is an enemy in Pikmin 3. They are cuttlefish-like enemies that swim around underwater. They can eat Pikmin using a mouth inside their tentacles, and are also able to spray a black ink that acts similarly to poison.
** The Puffstool was assumed to be related to the Puffstalk from hp, and assumed part of the same famliy, the Sporovid family. Pikmin 4 confirmed this to be true.
clear
** Pearly Clamclamps returned in Pikmin 4 and were classified under their own family: the Snareshell family.
** The Smoky Progg was described as related to the Mamuta, who were confirmed to belong to an unknown family in Pikmin 2. Both returned in Pikmin 4 and confirmed them both to each still be in an unknown family.
** While the Goolix has yet to return, a similar creature named the Foolix appeared in Pikmin 4 and was classified under the Goolix family. As the family is named after the Goolix, it's assumed to belong to that family.

A Waterwraith is what is believed to be a liquid or ectoplasmic creature. It is said that it may even be created from the fear of other things. It is found only in the Submerged Castle (all sublevels), and two are found in the Bully Den in Challenge Mode. It appears to have a human shape, a head, body, arms, and legs, without distinct characteristics though since it is transparent and it is quite heavy. It falls from the sky and moves around on these "rollers". It will chase the leaders and their Pikmin, but is more directed on the active leader. It is invincible to any Pikmin assault, even if petrified, except when attacked by Purple Pikmin. However, it strangely can't be hurt by purples if petrified, unless they are thrown in a perfect arch so they make the sound they usually make when they land. When a purple lands on or near the Waterwraith, it turns dark, and becomes vulnerable to all Pikmin attacks, but it is not wise to do this when it is on the rollers. When the player depletes its health, the rollers crumble and the Waterwraith will run all around the cave. It can be hit with more purples and then easily attacked with other Pikmin. When finished, it will vanish into nothingness and will trouble the player no more.
