Greetings, I am GreenPikmin. I'm a computer scientist and Pikmin enthusiast. I've been playing the Pikmin series since 2001 and have kept organized spreadsheets and records of game data since before I knew what a wiki was. It is my goal to share all the information I have with this wiki. I like extracting information from all Pikmin games, so if you have any questions or things for me to research, just let me know on my talk page!
Greetings, I am GreenPikmin. I'm a huge fan of the series and have data mined most of the games. I also am a fan of the Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Pokémon series and occasionally edit their wikis as well.

Disclaimer: I got tired of reading bizarre future game ideas that Nintendo would never do, so I tried coming up with something they could do. Sorry if it sucks.

<h3>Return to the Planet</h3>
Immediately following the events of Pikmin 3, Olimar, Alph, Brittany, and Charlie have left the Pikmin planet only to realize that Louie was left behind once again. Upon bringing Olimar back to his home planet of Hocotate, they have a chance to meet his family, who have been begging him to take them to the Pikmin planet. Having cashed in his treasures from his previous mission to buy back his larger and improved S.S. Dolphin, he sees this as an opportunity to go on a vacation with his family and at the same time recover Louie once again. He sets off once again for the Pikmin planet, along with his wife, son, daughter, and two pets: Bulbie and Chappy.

In the meantime, Alph, Brittany, and Charlie return to Koppai to save the planet with all the fruit they’ve collected. Charlie becomes a celebrity, Brittany wins the Koppai Breakthrough Award in Botany, and Alph gets promoted to captain rank. Liking Olimar’s idea of taking a vacation, the trio agrees that they should treat themselves to one as reward for saving Koppai. They decide this vacation should be a return to PNF-404 to collect even more fruit. They may even meet up with Olimar there, though they aren’t too interested in looking for Louie. After a big celebration, the trio heads out for the Pikmin planet. From this point, the story splits into two teams: Red (led by Olimar) and Blue (led by Alph).

<font color="red">Red Team:</font>

As the S.S. Dolphin approaches the planet, a strong electromagnetic pulse is emitted from somewhere on the surface and the ship completely powers down. As it descends, it strikes a tree and sends all its occupants flying out. Olimar wakes up near what appears to be an active volcano. Eventually he finds the rest of his family and Bulbie, but there is no sign of Chappy. Olimar and his son, along with Bulbie, set off to find some answers while his wife and daughter choose to spend their vacation relaxing in the sun. Strangely, there are no Pikmin anywhere, nor are there any sources of Pikmin such as onions and pellets. However, they soon come across a single Crimson Candypop Bud that may be their only hope...

<font color="blue">Blue Team:</font>

Alph, Brittany, and Charlie confidently return to the planet knowing they’ll do just fine having learned all they did in their previous journey. However, they suspect that it may have not been a coincidence that both the Drake and Olimar’s ship crashed upon reaching the planet last time. Doing their best to land safely, everything goes fine until a mysterious electromagnetic pulse renders their ship useless as well. They end up crashing into a large body of water but fortunately do not get separated. Washing up to shore, they look around and see no Pikmin anywhere. However, they come across a Lapis Lazuli Candypop Bud and a small Bulborb-like creature, which they realize is Olimar’s pet, Chappy. Knowing Olimar must be somewhere close by, Alph and Charlie set out with Chappy to find him while Brittany stays behind to study the planet's biology. They begin their mission to find out what caused this disaster...

<h3>The Evolution of Pikmin</h3>

Both teams separately encounter a strange onion shaped object. It’s not an onion though. It doesn’t activate or have any Pikmin near it. Noticing that it’s about as light as a Pikmin, they pick it up and start tossing it around. Seeing that it’s red in color, Olimar believes that it may have some relation to the Candypop Bud he saw earlier. The same situation occurs with Alph and the others, except that the onion shaped object is blue. Tossing it into the Candypop Bud, they are surprised to see a functioning onion pop out and drop a single Pikmin seed. The Red Team begins to build their army of Red Pikmin, while the Blue Team does the same with Blue Pikmin, coincidentally. Realizing that these objects must be the source of onions on the planet, they decide to call them Onion Pellets.

As the adventure continues, the explorers find that more of these strange Onion Pellets can be found, making it possible to grow more than one of the same color onion. This provides convenience for them as the onions can be called to wherever they are needed. Soon they discover onion pellets of yellow and white varieties that allow them to grow colors of Pikmin they previously worked with. But the biggest discovery of all shows them that colors of Onion Pellets and Candypop Buds can be mixed! The possibilities quickly grow into a complex chart of color mixing:

{|class="wikitable" style="text-align:center;"
|-
!style="width:60px;"|Onion<br>Pellet<br>Color!!Candypop<br>Bud<br>Color!!Onion<br>Produced
|-

|-

|-
|Yellow||Yellow||Yellow
|-
|Yellow||Purple||Gray
|-
|White||Red||Pink
|-
|White||Blue||Cyan

They find that the Candypop Buds seem to behave in odd ways. They will open up and accept Onion Pellets that they can combine colors with, but will stay closed for others. Seeing this as the next big step in Pikmin evolution, the teams grow Pikmin rigorously, needing all the varieties they can find that will help them escape the planet. Along the way, they discover three new Pikmin colors that neither team had ever encountered before:

<font color="orange">Orange Pikmin</font> – This new variety is similar to flying squirrels as they have a parachute-like membrane between their arms and the rest of their bodies which helps them glide for a brief period. This makes them useful for being thrown across gaps and other large horizontal distances. They are also immune to explosions, which enables them to safely perform a kamikaze attack when holding a bomb rock.

<font color="green">Green Pikmin</font> – These Pikmin grow rich with nutrients and have a tail with a small light at the end. Flowered ones can never lose their petals and leaving them idle near Pikmin sprouts causes the sprout to flower faster thanks to the extra sunlight from their tail. More importantly, they are immune to new acid hazards and enemies, and can also sting enemies to poison them and gradually deplete HP.

<font color="cyan">Ice Pikmin</font> – This type of Pikmin looks similar to Rock Pikmin but is instead a cyan-colored chunk of ice. Their biggest ability is to go in water and instantly freeze it under their feet, providing a bridge for the leaders and other Pikmin. This allows them to block up pipes that spew water too. They are also immune to new ice hazards and enemies. In combat, they are good for temporarily freezing enemies.

Alph and Charlie work their way away from the shore, believing Olimar must be somewhere inland. About Me

A trophy of Captain Olimar and two Pikmin.
This trophy is the whole reason I'm here

I like to write a lot and decided I want to include my history with Pikmin here. I got into gaming during the N64/GBC era (mainly due to the Pokémon craze at the time) and got a GameCube in 2002. One of my first games for it was Super Smash Bros. Melee and I became obsessive about collecting every trophy. I had been eyeing Pikmin in stores as I had been aware of how it unlocks the Captain Olimar trophy in the game. My dad caught onto this and got me a copy of it for Christmas.

Initially I didn’t enjoy Pikmin and couldn’t get very far through The Forest of Hope before quitting. Eventually I came back to it upon being introduced to Action Replay and cheated my way through the game, but still fell in love with it despite ruining the fun. After that I played through the game again for real and became an expert, accomplishing zero death, low day, and low Pikmin challenge runs. Since then I’ve loved and mastered every sequel.

Along with Pokémon and other series, I developed a habit of keeping detailed spreadsheets of everything in the game in the years before I had internet. I often replayed games with specific plans for team setups or orders in which I did things, which required a lot of organizing. This greatly helped me to learn Microsoft Excel and eventually study data science. I’m now a data analyst for a chain of grocery stores you’ve likely shopped at, and I have Pikmin to thank for my career.
