From what I can tell, [[:Category:Map images]] is a very old category for map-type images, [[:Category:Radar patterns]] is specifically for textures of maps from the radar, and [[:Category:Maps]] is where [[:Template:File info]] places images with the type of Map. There's a lot of overlap in what types of images they cover, particularly in the case of [[:Category:Map images]] and [[:Category:Maps]]. In order to sort out this mess, I propose that [[:Category:Maps]] be merged with [[:Category:Map images]] by editing [[:Template:File info]], and all the radar textures in [[:Category:Map images]] be moved to [[:Category:Radar patterns]] (over time, as there are several), and all the non-maps in [[:Category:Map images]] be removed. I come asking on behalf of the Mario Wiki if it would be fine to use the Pikcross source code for an upcoming community event, as there's plans to include Picross puzzles as part of it, and the Pikcross game engine more than meets the requirements for having an in-browser Picross engine.
