It's the only part that benefits Olimar in the game, allowing the player to view a map of the current area to see the [[Pikmin (species)|Pikmin]], including strays, and the missing ship parts. It gives [[Captain Olimar|Olimar]] the ability to see all ship parts and Pikmin in the area with just one glance at the monitor of the [[S.S. Dolphin|Dolphin]]. [[The Ship]] in [[Pikmin 2]] also appears to have a radar of sorts. However, this one is similar in appearance to a wind-up key.

| This part is to the right of where the Yellow Onion first found. It is resting on a ledge that any Pikmin can reach. Destroy the [[Gate|stone gate]] using the nearby [[Bomb Rock]]s, then defeat the [[Dwarf Red Bulborb|Dwarf Bulborbs]] and [[Spotty Bulborb]]. Its sonar can be heard ringing as Olimar approaches it, so it is very easy to find. You can also opt out of using more bomb rocks by going around behind your base into the area filled with [[Male sheargrub|Male]] and [[Female Sheargrub|Female]]Sheargrubs
