|scientific = ''Sus decrepitia''. It uses the main genus name on the blowhog family, and ''decrepitia'' is very similar to the Latin word ''decrepita'', meaning "feeble". This is because of its ability to weaken Pikmin.

This name could have been decided due to the fact that when a Pikmin's flower is blown off, its petals scatter everywhere.
