The Skin of the Phoenix (フェニックスの抜け殻?, lit.: "Phoenix's Cast-Off Skin") is a treasure in Pikmin 4 found in the Aquiferous Summit and The Mud Pit. It is actually an origami crane folded out of red paper.

Collecting the treasure[edit]

The following article or section contains guides.
The strategies shown are just suggestions.

Aquiferous Summit[edit]

There is a Skin of the Phoenix hanging from a cobweb on the western portion of sublevel 2 of the Aquiferous Summit. To collect this treasure, you must have Oatchi, who cannot pass through the iron fence, meaning that you'll have to take the alternate route. To go through it, the sizzling floor must be extinguished, or Oatchi must have the Scorch Guard. Then, climb on top of the rock structure with Oatchi and press the button to lower the iron fences. Lastly, throw 3 Pikmin at the treasure to bring it down.

The Mud Pit[edit]

There is a Skin of the Phoenix stuck in the mud east of the center of sublevel 2 of The Mud Pit, next to a Sweat-Soaked Blue Bird. It is guarded by three Muckerskates, which should be defeated before attempting to collect it, although it isn't necessary to do so. To collect this treasure, you must throw 3 Winged Pikmin at it.

Notes[edit]

Schnauz's notes[edit]

A sculpture representing the charred skin cast off by the immortal phoenix. The red paper is clearly inspired by the color of its flaming wings. Though immortality is an impossible wish for any living creature, this bird is imbued with the fervent desire for a miracle.

Olimar's notes[edit]

This bird reminds me of a mythical creature famous for granting immortality to those brave enough to seek it out. I have no interest in living forever. Or maybe the idea of risking my life for the sole purpose of avoiding death just sounds a bit wonky to me. Why not enjoy the time you have while you have it? Anyway, this is a nice shade of red.

Louie's notes[edit]

I was disappointed to learn that it can't fly. Shame.
