- While it has long been assumed that this is the case, I don't think that's actually what's happening here:
https://youtu.be/0zg3p0OVxLU?si=gASd3B1hrsX9x7rv&t=510 In this high-quality version of the original trailer, if the scene is watched at a slower playback speed it is possible to see that the three Pikmin spirits are present before the Wollyhop has completed its death animation. This leads me to suspect that these are actually Pikmin that have been killed by a regular squashing attack immediately before the clip begins recording. --109.152.145.160
- You raise a fair point, though also the souls seem to appear from nowhere and are spread out across an area one Yellow Wollywog can't cover, so I guess it's just a mystery then. -Gulliblepikmin 03:43, April 18, 2026 (UTC)
