I noticed that the predecessor is referred to as a "prequel" in this template. This is actually incorrect terminology, as a "prequel" (portmanteau of pre and sequel) is normally something that is released ''after'' the work, but set before it in its timeline (i.e. if a game set before the original Pikmin is released, that's a prequel to Pikmin, but Pikmin is not a prequel to Pikmin 2). This template currently uses "Predecessor" and "Sequel" to describe related games. This is currently causing a problem for the ''[[Pikmin 3]]'' page, because it cannot list ''[[Pikmin 4]]'' as its "sequel", due to their in-universe timeline relation being unknown.
When I created this template, I had called them "Prequel" and "Sequel", although the former was renamed when [[#Predecessor|Vellidragon pointed out]] that that wasn't the correct term. Unfortunately, only one of the terms was updated at the time—"sequel" also should have been renamed "successor", to properly parallel "predecessor".
