:In general, the minor edit checkbox doesn't have any real impact. It's just a way for people who are checking the [[Special:RecentChanges|recent changes]] to know if the edit you made is worth reading to learn something new (normal edit), or if it's just a quick typo or rewording (minor edit). (PS: Don't forget to sign your posts! And if you write a question on somebody else's talk page, they will get notified about it. :What you wrote right now is a message. What I'm writing right now is also a message. If you end your message with four tildes (~) in a row, your user signature will show up. That's how you sign your message. If you look at your talk page, you will see my signature as something like my nickname inside curly braces. You probably copied it from [[Template:Icon]], and that's fine, but the extra code that's for the template only ends up bloating your signature. I actually just looked at other people's signatures and found out how to make mine. I think I did use the icon template for the icon part. There is a problem. The new code for the signature makes the icon part too big, and I like the small icon a lot better. Here's an example.
