The Pikmin come in five colors which have powers to survive enemy attacks and environments.  Pikmin know where to deliver items they "pik" up: to Onions or ships. The first pikmin that was ever found was none other than the red. Olimar increases his ship capabilities to fly higher in the sky with the help of the pikmin in exchange for leading the pikmin to increase their population and flourish.
