:It's not really an Easter egg, since it probably wasn't intentional, but I wouldn't call it a glitch either. My guess as to what's happening is when you switch captains, each Pikmin chooses a place it wants to be based on where it was being ordered to go before the switch, but since the Pikmin are so densely packed around a wall, the Pikmin on the outside can't reach their desired location, so they either run around to try and reposition themselves (as if moving around an obstacle), or simply jog in place, trying to get through the other Pikmin.
