::It is possible that poison is denser than air, which would explain it's habit to stay close to the ground. However, it probably wouldn't block the airways and lungs of the Pikmin. I think that the White Pikmin have the organs necessary to filter out the poison. As for the quick reaction, plenty of poisons in the world have extremely quick kill times.
