The only bad possibility with that is that other users may dissagree with (not being offensive) the featured image you picked. You could let other users have their say '''before''' you pick an image. For example, on greenpickle's talk you could say... 'Im thinking of having '''Insert image''' as the featured article, what do you think?'.
