This strategy makes throwing Pikmin faster since you don't have to wait the fraction of a second for a Pikmin to approach your pilot to be thrown. It saves very little time on a single throw, but when throwing large groups every second will help. This may also work for killing mature [[Bulborb]]s or enemies with high health.

The C-stick tactic being used on a Red Bulborb in the first game

This is a strategy that functions in both Pikmin titles and it allows Pikmin to be thrown much more quickly.

  • Simply tilt the C-stick in a direction so the Pikmin are near your captain keeping the group centered around him, rotating the C-stick as necessary.
  • Rapidly press the 'A' button, unleashing a wave of Pikmin.

This strategy makes throwing Pikmin faster since you don't have to wait the fraction of a second for a Pikmin to approach your pilot to be thrown. It saves very little time on a single throw, but when throwing large groups every second will help. This may also work for killing mature Bulborbs or enemies with high health.

This is slightly less useful in Pikmin 2, because the Pikmin are thrown faster anyway.

However, this strategy doesn't exist in New Play Control! Pikmin, as the C-stick is now a button.

  • A note: it is recommended that you simply use the c-stick to swarm upon Bulborbs in Pikmin, as it is easier, but in Pikmin 2 throwing Pikmin one by one on a Bulborb's back is much more efficient.

Trivia

  • In Pikmin, when using the C-stick tactic, the Pikmin start making noises. In the second game, this is replaced by a music that sounds almost the same.
