There might be, I glanced at the main page, and I think it has to do with which wikia is the most active/biggest/etc. Me just in 19:05, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

I think there are people who watch new pages being made, but it's impossible to keep track of the edits. So new pages get noticed if they're not Wikipedia-worthy. G P
