''Hey! Pikmin'' is a fairly isolated game, in that it barely connects to the other games in the series. Olimar's first encounter with the Pikmin from {{p1}} is mentioned, but not much else. However, Olimar still breifly mentions characters in the other games in various logs, such as [[Minor characters#Olimar's wife|his wife]] and [[The President]]. Chronologically, the game must take place some time after {{p3}}, as the Pikmin types first discovered in that game are immediately recognized by the [[S.S. Dolphin II]].{{cite quote|Ah!
