On October 2008, at the Nintendo Press Conference, remakes for Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 for the wii were announced, the Pikmin 1 Remakes is aimed for a December 25, 2008 release and the one for Pikmin 2 is aimed for 2009. Pikmin 1, along with "Donkey Kong Barrel Blast" will be the first titles in the "Play on the Wii" collection of Gamecube remakes for the Wii.
