In Pikmin 4, gear that gives you abilities, immunities, or stats can be bought from Russ for raw material. Most of them are unlocked after collecting a specific amount of Sparklium.

Additionally, other gear can be seen in the demo's gameplay guide and in trailers:

  • An upgraded Treasure Gauge that displays the number of treasures in an area or cave.
  • A device that gathers Pikmin outside your squad back to the base.
  • Headlamp+, an upgraded headlamp that costs 100 raw material.
  • Rush Boots, which make you run faster and costs 120 raw material.
  • Lineup Trumpet, which commands Pikmin to move out in specific directions, similar to how swarming functions in Pikmin and Pikmin 2.
