Moving while sitting

I might be missing something really obvious but this happened to me: I was trying to do the glitch where you can take a Pikmin out to the limits of the garden, double clicking on a Purple Pikmin and baiting it with nectar, but I saw it chasing the nectar while still in the sitting animation, so it looked like it was walking while sitting.
