Things to do[edit]

At the moment, we have a list of all the objectives in Pikmin 3 Deluxe that can be seen on the radar. However, objectives are a lot more complicated than this. Firstly, almost all of these objectives have an assigned area – if you land in a different area, the objective on the radar will say to go to the assigned area, the loading screen will have no objective, and the saved game selection menu and the day selection menu will have the objective of the assigned area. Secondly, not all radar objectives appear on the loading screen/saved game selection menu/day selection menu. Some don't because they can't (such as the "Find Alph!" objective), while some (usually minor ones that only briefly apply) just don't appear in those places. Thirdly, the original Pikmin 3 likely has different text for some objectives, or has a different list or something like that. In order to make this page complete, we need to document all of this. This will likely require a 5-column table. The first column is for the progress through the story, the second is for the objective in the original Pikmin 3, the third is for the non-radar objectives in Pikmin 3 Deluxe, the fourth is for the radar objectives in Pikmin 3 Deluxe, and the fifth is for the assigned area. This will take a lot of work, but it doesn't matter if it takes a long time to do; after all, these are fairly insignificant details. — Soprano(talk) 21:33, April 10, 2021 (EDT)

Alright, after doing a playthrough of Pikmin 3 Deluxe where I ended the day at every objective change (which is possible), it's actually simpler than I thought. Almost all objectives on the radar are basically the same on menus and loading screens, with line breaks being the only differences. However, some objectives do not appear on the menus and loading screens for various reasons. There are also more subtleties in the way the objective system works, and these will need to be documented. At least we don't need a 5-column table. — Soprano(talk) 19:39, July 7, 2021 (EDT)
