Talk page redirects[edit]

Hey, I've noticed that you're putting the {{delete}} template on various redirect pages in the Talk namespace that were created as a result of moving a page. I was just interested to know why you think they should be deleted. From my perspective, there's no harm in just leaving these redirects alone, and there's a chance that deleting them might break an old version of another page. — Soprano(talk) 17:23, November 21, 2022 (EST)

They aren't necessary. They will only confuse people when searching. These pages are talk page redirects for redirect pages, so if people *do* click on the talk page section, they likely would expect discussion as to why that redirect exists, not to be redirected to the correct page's discussion. As for old pages, they are inherently going to break inevitably from other things and should probably not be worried about too extensively—if people want to maintain a proper trail to follow where pages went, the new page should explicitly be linked to in the deletion reason regardless. I am actively correcting any existing links anyway. Trig - 17:43, November 21, 2022 (EST)

forward[edit]

Forward things to you? okay, I'll keep that in mind for the future. I haven't heard from you in...4 years, I think? Things are awkward af with me nowadays. Some of it's a return to my roots, but a lot of it is a total reversion of before.

Yes, I'm on Fandom. As things change over time, I've been more open to that. I've personally helped Zelda Wiki get some of their stuff off. I helped SmashWiki a bit as well. I take my role responsibly, deleting plagiarism as I find it along the way and forcing the ZW Fandom to cancel their 20th anniversary on behalf of ZW.wiki's community. I got someone in trouble on the Nintendo Wiki for plagiarizing from Bulbapedia and deleted the images that ZW mentioned on Bluesky. I've been helping you indirectly, and also deleted Nookipedia plagiarism on indy.snowsherrill.com.

As for SMW content, that can be resolved with the page histories intact (they're the only non-fork CC-BY-SA wiki in the alliance, to my knowledge). I really don't want to get into details why, but the tl;dr is that their pre-NIWA days was the entire reason why I had niwa conflict; i got banned; then i learned it's not my place to try and change something out of my control). The Fandom Mario Wiki copied from other Mario wikis on Fandom without attributing (like Mario Party Wiki in 2011) so it's really ironic how porting SMW article with history intact is more legal, considering the cross-compatible CC-BY-SA. Things get PERSONAL, unlike any other NIWA wiki. I've noticed a few SMW users try to maintain the insubordination that the wiki had while I was there (i.e. "rival SmashWiki's coverage"), likely because they had cultural identity before joining NIWA. Those days there are over, and for the better. The site has become totally different ever since I left, and I'm mirroring it via cc-by-sa requirements wherever to adapt and fix it accordingly.

I take the SMW stuff so seriously that I brought it up on Porplemontage's talk page. He didn't respond, so if he were majorly opposed, he would've let me know.

I was bitter with NIWA some time after leaving Discord, going on a self-discovery journey. My entire beef with Fandom was always over the loss of Monobook skin. When I learned I can put that aside while editing there, I've accumulated tens of thousands of edits there over time because I click better with the communities there while maintaining diplomacy to the best of my ability with a few around here.

In 2024, when the Pikmin wiki war occurred, the conclusion is that I'll side with Pikipedia while leaving editing to the others. It also made me realize that it was the classic SMW that was what I was after, and that issues with other NIWA wikis were moot when it comes to taking back the culture I once knew growing up. Just... won't try it in the indie wiki space again, lol.

Also, I host wikis. They're private though but publicly readable. I'm not just beholden to Fandom: I also host some my own wikis, but after the GWN incident, I keep editing and registration disabled without my manual approval to ensure I retain creative control, being the person paying monthly for it. In other words, I'm an independent collaborator, and not being a slave to Discord or modern social platforms further emphasizes that. Results May Vary (talk) 21:56, October 1, 2025 (EDT)
