::Well, those arguments leave me torn even after thinking for one day and then sleeping on the issue. It's true that the content you listed is all set in the same basic area but with different objects and restrictions on where the player may go, which parallels the Shipwreck Tale and night expeditions in a way. On the other hand, we have the same article for Mission Mode stages that appear in both "collect treasure" and "battle enemies", such as [[Tropical Forest]] and [[Fortress of Festivity]]. Those are split into different sections with their own infoboxes, which seems to work (no one has suggested [[Tropical Forest (Battle Enemies!)]] AFAIK).
::My preferred solution would be to cover the Shipwreck Tale and night expeditions in the same places we do now, but in more clearly delineated sections. At the top of the section for OST, we can add an infobox that covers how many ship parts you need to get there, how many parts are to be found etc. Each night expedition can get a small table with stats (infoboxes seem excessive). I've reviewed [[Blossoming Arcadia (Olimar's Shipwreck Tale)]] again, and to be honest, it feels too short to warrant splitting; I suspect the same would become the case for night articles.
::Anyway, I've come to dislike the practice of making informal (voteless) decisions on Discord and then implementing them without asking a soul on the wiki proper. People have different reasons to not want to use Discord and risk falling out of the loop if they're not checking the chats every ~12 hours. Splitting the articles[edit]

To be honest, I don't think we need separate articles for every area in the Shipwreck Tale (and especially not for night expeditions, of which there are 16). The main articles can handle both issues while staying within a comfortable size, and the average reader is smart enough to scroll down to the game mode that they want to read about. This was discussed for a while on the Discord before we decided to do it. The primary reason was actually infoboxes – including Olimar's Shipwreck Tale information and main story information in the same area infobox was just not feasible, and more can be said about each appearance of the area if they're in separate pages. Compare the situation to Pikmin 3, where Distant Tundra, Distant Tundra Remix, and Tundra cover information about the same area in different appearances. By splitting area articles into one covering the main story, one covering Olimar's Shipwreck Tale, and one covering all the night expeditions that take place in the area, it makes it easier to document each. — Soprano(talk) 04:37, January 2, 2024 (EST)
Well, those arguments leave me torn even after thinking for one day and then sleeping on the issue. It's true that the content you listed is all set in the same basic area but with different objects and restrictions on where the player may go, which parallels the Shipwreck Tale and night expeditions in a way. On the other hand, we have the same article for Mission Mode stages that appear in both "collect treasure" and "battle enemies", such as Tropical Forest and Fortress of Festivity. Those are split into different sections with their own infoboxes, which seems to work (no one has suggested Tropical Forest (Battle Enemies!) AFAIK).
My preferred solution would be to cover the Shipwreck Tale and night expeditions in the same places we do now, but in more clearly delineated sections. At the top of the section for OST, we can add an infobox that covers how many ship parts you need to get there, how many parts are to be found etc. Each night expedition can get a small table with stats (infoboxes seem excessive). I've reviewed Blossoming Arcadia (Olimar's Shipwreck Tale) again, and to be honest, it feels too short to warrant splitting; I suspect the same would become the case for night articles.
Anyway, I've come to dislike the practice of making informal (voteless) decisions on Discord and then implementing them without asking a soul on the wiki proper. People have different reasons to not want to use Discord and risk falling out of the loop if they're not checking the chats every ~12 hours. CortexCPU242 (talk) 04:56, January 3, 2024 (EST)
Alright, we'll merge the articles back into the main area articles. We may have to consider splitting them again if the resulting area articles get too large, but we won't know that until all the necessary information is documented. — Soprano(talk) 19:22, January 18, 2024 (EST)
